custom handmade hoodie giveaway by Garden Dub

(heheh i love this lady's cartoony doodles.)

so i was thinking....are there any truly happy happy artists that make amazing art? Amazing clothes?? amazing jewelry???
i really wonder if great art ever comes from a place of laughter. I've seen the art of happy hippies and it's swirls and doodles and randomness that doesn't really communicate more. It's like it's an emotional inability to be able to represent your thoughts properly, but when you're dealing with whatever dark mind thoughts or issues or life experiences that aren't as peachy, the art becomes this untangled web of colour and narration that pleases the eye. It's like those bees that make beautiful amazing cocoons with their poop. Or something......

ANYWAY...............here's the giveaway...from now until the end of the month i'll take down names/nicknames on this blog on a custom hoodie. The way it works with my hoodies is that i recycles old clothing and turn it into something more awesome.

The winner will contact me and tell me what main colour they want...and the SIZE. And maybe for a girl thermal hoodie/shirt they can say: i want a small PINK long sleeve shirt with a HOOD and LACE modified arm cuffs. For a boy he can say: i want an extra large BROWN hoodie with a POUCH. The rest i will modify as my creativity takes me :) cool?
leave comment on this post and watch back at the end of the month to see if your name was selected :) ...or leave email and i will contact you

Here I am, the first one!
I just saw your comment in my log and decided visit you..and saw this..wow!
For me, the true inspiration many times comes from the ashes,it is a leap from the grief, a tentative of spiritual survival, a tiredness of the mediocre and finally the glimpse of the beauty.. so many things to talk about this.. thanks for bringing this reflection.
As well as when we are seeing butterflies..
I want to win! :))
Hugs to you, thanks for the give away.

Oh gosh. Happiness and art? The crusty old misunderstanding is that an artist has to suffer to make good art. The truth is, I think, that all of us suffer, and sometimes the artist manages to "say" something that brings comfort or understanding to another person. So, happy, sad, whatever, we communicate with each other and that helps us make sense of life. And would I ever love to have one of those marvelous garments -- that would make alot of sense of my life!

your hoodies are super cute! I don't think 100% happy people exist, really. But I think the unhappy or mentally ill tend to be better artists (though im a huge blue october fan so perhaps this is part of where my bias comes from, haha), though I'm sure there are totally normal people who are good artists.

Came from where else but our fearless leaders blog Fanci d...
Saw a movie yesterday called Happy... Whoze the happiest people... Natives in the middle of nowhere that live in grass huts, skinny as rails, hotter than hell Africa... Why? Communal living... Sharing ,no one has more than another eat together hunt together raise kids together,,,so it seems that what the movie showed is lonliness and a feeling of not belonging to a group, family makes us sad... Japan the worst cause they work too much and not enough family time. I think "decorating" ourselves makes us happy,,, I mean every tribe has beads and bones and feathers and body painting and hut building etc,
Your lovely ..happy for me would be winning yer contest..
All the best cynthia

well betweenreader, who said that the artist HAS to suffer to make good art? I think that you are misunderstanding what was said.
But read more about the history of life of the great artists of all times, painters, musicians,.. and so read about Psicoanalisis and Art..
I can assure that you will have good discoveries!
